A lesser known and wilder part of the
Lower Keys of Florida, Big Pine Key is the place to visit for a lower
key Florida Key vacation. Home to less than 6,000 residents, this
area is well known for its outdoor activities and destinations such
as the National Key Deer Refuge, Bahia Honda State Park great scuba
and snorkeling, world class beaches, and small quiet resorts. Rather
than fight the crowd, Big Pine Key is a vacation away from the fast
pace of many of the more populous keys.
